This vacancy announcement is for a Dual-Status Technician position which requires active membership in the New Jersey National Guard (uniformed military service). Official appointment is not effective until membership within the New Jersey National Guard is confirmed by the gaining Human Resources Office.

Duties

As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-12/13, you will:
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems
  • Reviews and analyzes maintenance data; determines if criteria are sufficient to provide adequate test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; devises and recommends tests, procedural changes, or data corrections.
  • Maintain, modify, calibrate, and inspect a wide variety of user test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment
  • Troubleshoot operational malfunctions and analyze system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data, Technical Orders, schematic and wiring diagrams.
  • Recommend methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures
  • Apply technical data and equipment specifications to determine the impact that equipment modifications or substitutions will have upon integrated multi-system operations and various maintenance alignment procedures.
  • May upload and download chaff/flare dispensers.
  • May be required to perform additional duties such as structural fire-fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, serve as a security guard, remove snow, load and handle munitions, launch/recover and service aircraft, operate heavy equipment, maintain facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Military Grades: SRA /E-4 to TSGT/ E-6

Compatible Military Assignments: 2A9X4
Selectee has one (1) year to obtain required AFSC

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state\'s National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Qualifications

General Experience:
Must have the following experience(s):
  • Removing and replacing aircraft parts, accessories, and components
  • Making adjustments and settings according to established specifications
  • Using hand tools and test equipment
Specialized Experience:
Must have 18 months of the following experience(s):
  • Installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting
  • Functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and electronic integrated systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification
  • Coordinating the work of other mechanics
  • Scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow
  • Instructing lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
