Join PPG as an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Immediately Hiring at 961 Division Street, Adrian, MI 49221
Compensation: Starting pay $28.25 per hour
Schedule: 3rd shift, 11:00pm-7:30am, with a $0.75 shift differential
A night on the job
When the plant quiets down, your work begins. You'll complete inspections, tune and align components, and bring equipment back to peak performance so production starts strong at sunrise. You'll move between mechanical and electrical tasks, capture all activity in our CMMS, and make data-driven recommendations that boost uptime, capability, and yield.
What you'll take on

• Carry out essential maintenance: cleaning, lubrication, alignment/adjustment, and calibration.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery; order and install replacement parts.
• Execute preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime.
• Analyze failures and complete both preventive and unscheduled repairs.
• Diagnose root causes of equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
• Document modifications, PM procedures, and findings in thorough technical reports.
• Leverage our CMMS to plan work, track history, and ensure compliance.
• Recommend upgrades that improve availability, throughput, and quality.

Your background

• Hands-on experience with relay logic and computer-based control logic.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and related regulations.
• 2-4 years of prior maintenance experience preferred, ideally in industrial settings.
• Medically able to wear a respirator as required.
• Comfortable working at height using scissor or boom lifts.
• Willing and able to perform confined space entry (training provided on site).
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments is preferred.
