DOC is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates to fill two (2) positions for Electrician Supervisor at Coyote Ridge Corrections Center (CRCC) located at Connell, Washington. Merely 45 minutes from a burgeoning metropolitan area known as the Tri-Cities, you will have access to everything from outdoor recreation to over 200 wineries, and more than 300 days of sunshine a year!

Coyote Ridge Corrections Center (CRCC) is located on a 60-acre site about 40 miles north of the Tri-Cities. CRCC is comprised of two-complexes. The Main Security Complex (MSC) is a 2,048 bed facility that houses incarcerated individuals with Medium and MI3 Custody. MSC consists of 4 Hybrid units and 4 Medium units. The Minimum Security Unit (MSU) is a 480 bed facility that houses assisted living and MI2 Custody incarcerated individuals. MSU consists of 2 units. This is a work/program orientated facility that offers many educational, vocational, and self-help programs and Class II and Class III Correctional Industries work programs.

Duties

Under the supervision of the Construction and Maintenance Project Supervisor, the Electrician Supervisor oversees an Incarcerated Individual (I/I) work crew in maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation of electrical systems, appliances, and equipment throughout CRCC, both Minimum Security Units and Medium Security Complex. This position helps maintain a comfortable living environment for offenders and a safe working environment for employees, volunteers and visitors. This position supports the mission of the Department of Corrections by promoting public safety. The daily tasks for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Electrical systems installation and maintenance in minimum and medium security institutions.
  • Maintain, inspect, install, modify and repair all single and 3 phase electrical systems.
  • Maintain, repair, and install facility lighting systems of various voltage.
  • Install and maintain electrical conduit for security and surveillance systems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, install and repair electrical service to various commercial equipment.
  • Supervise, train and evaluate offender work crew.
  • Provide daily documentation of work orders completed in Micromain.
  • Maintain adequate spare parts inventory and PR records.
  • Maintain accurate and timely I/I payroll records, and up to date I/I safety training documentation.
Qualifications

Required:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Current EL-01 Journeyman Electrician License *
  • Valid motor vehicle operator\'s license
  • Two (2) years journey level electrical work experience
*Please attach a copy of your current EL-01 Journeyman Electrician License to your application.

Desired:
  • Eight years experience in the electrical field
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from blue prints, schematics and drawings
  • Four years of Journey level work in a commercial or industrial setting
  • Graduate of a four year state approved apprenticeship program

Telework Details
This position may be allocated for telework. Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a \xe2\x80\x9cdrop in\xe2\x80\x9d area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
