GENERAL
: This is a 1099 Contractor position for a microgrid construction project at MOTCO, Concord, CA.
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced electrical construction specialized Contractor Quality Control (CQC) individual to join our team and support the project's Quality Control program. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the project's lifecycle. As the Electrical QC, you will be responsible for monitoring all quality activities, ensuring strict compliance with the Company's and U.S. Government's Quality Control and Assurance requirements. Additionally, the candidate will actively participate in design phase activities, conduct pre-mobilization and preparatory meetings, and perform onsite observations to uphold compliance with design documents, submittals, manufacturers' requirements, and best practices.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years related experience for a graduate Electrical Engineer.
Alternatively, 5 years of experience supervising electrical features of work in the field with a construction company.
Minimum 5 years of overall construction experience in a role associated with quality control management.
At least 2 years of construction experience on U.S. Government projects.
Minimum 2 years of construction experience on U.S. Army Corps of Engineer projects.
Extensive experience preparing submittal documents for U.S. Government projects.
JOB DUTIES:
Develop, implement, and lead an electrical Quality Control Plan (QCP) for this project.
Support project's Preconstruction phase, including the initiation/management of submittal registers and project plans using software such as Procore and USACE RMS. As well as;
a. Oversee project's electrical section of the QCP and ensure Submittal reviews are completed and signed off at the prescribed milestones.
b. Establish and document quality risks and mitigation plans.
c. Conduct final document reviews for project's electrical FOWs.
d. Provides review on Requests for Proposals/Quotes from subcontractors to ensure scope aligns with the plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
e. Participate in the selection and evaluation of independent testing agencies.
Support project's Construction phase by regularly visiting crews in the field to review project status, assure quality construction, and review safety practices. As well as;
a. Review submittal registers, quality control documents, and reports for completeness and addresses any issues with onsite Construction Quality Control.
b. Inspect work of Subcontractors ensuring compliance with project documents such as drawings, specifications, and submittals.
c. Support and run Three Phase Inspection program for electrical FOWs as needed in conjunction with Project's overall Quality Control Manager (QCM).
d. Support QCM in implementing project's QC activities in RMS - Daily Reports, QAQC Reports, etc.
e. Communicate potential issues to the executive team that may expose the company to liability expenses.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & OTHER:
Proficient use in U.S. Army Corps of Engineer Resident Management System (RMS) to record, maintain, input, track, and electronically share information with the Government throughout the project period.
Ability to read and effectively interpret building construction documentation and associated reports.
Ability to conduct effective meetings and influence company personnel to progress project.
Ability to maintain inspection report of construction progress.
Ability to interface with client's Quality personnel and provide direction to ensure compliance with testing, inspection procedures, and results to on-site Quality Control inspectors.
Strong organizational and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-up.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including basic formatting to generate reports, build/maintain spreadsheets to track reporting, and scheduling meetings.
Ability to work efficiently across dispersed sites including using virtual/video meeting software and utilizing VPNs to access/manage corporate files.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Military experience (Veteran) is highly desirable.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, CLEARANCES AND REGISTRATIONS:
U.S. Citizen with valid U.S. Passport.
Current driver's license required, and must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
Must obtain and maintain U.S. Government security check clearance for access to military and other sensitive U.S. Government facilities and bases.
Successful completion of USACE CQM and OSHA 30-hour Construction safety course.
