Position Description
The Electrical Division Sales - Project Manager is responsible for prospecting, proposing, and selling electrical projects with a focus on retrofit, renovation, design-build, and energy solutions. This role is
not
an estimating or bid-market position; instead, it emphasizes building relationships with existing businesses and accounts while generating proposals for electrical upgrades, replacements, and renovations. The Sales - Project Manager will work closely with the Sales Team and Operations Group to deliver innovative solutions and maintain long-term client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Prospect, qualify, and secure new business using all available resources.
Identify and develop key accounts to achieve long-term client relationships.
Generate proposals for electrical upgrades, renovations, replacements, and design-build solutions.
Create and maintain a strong backlog of proposals to meet or exceed sales goals.
Promptly follow up on leads and referrals; provide feedback to referral sources.
Collaborate with field service and other personnel to create a steady flow of qualified leads.
Project Management & Technical Expertise
Survey and assess building electrical systems, equipment conditions, and job site environments.
Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and site conditions to identify potential issues.
Recommend repair, replacement, modification, and design solutions for electrical systems.
Schedule and prioritize manpower efforts to ensure project success.
Apply company pricing policies to achieve targeted gross margin and recovery plans.
Technical Knowledge
Demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical systems, including conduit and wire sizing, disconnects, breakers, electrical load calculations, and lighting upgrades.
Understand mechanical, electrical, wiring, and automatic control systems.
Maintain required licenses and certifications, including a
State of Virginia Electrical Master's License
.
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb ladders, bend, and maneuver in mechanical spaces, rooftops, and other challenging environments.
Comfort working around piping, ductwork, and electrical/mechanical equipment.
Qualifications
Required:
State of Virginia Electrical Master's License.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, building surveys, and project design.
Proven ability to prospect, develop client relationships, and close sales.
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to balance technical expertise with sales and customer service.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range:
$95,000 - $115,000 (base, depending on experience).
