The Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy\'s submarine and aircraft fleet. The successful candidate shall perform SKM modeling of site power distribution systems, perform coordination and over current protection studies, convert existing SKM models into ETAPs models, and associate models provided by the SFHP contractor into NRF\'s site power models.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor s in electrical engineering.
  • Working knowledge of either SKM Power Tools, ETAPS, with the ability to learn the other software. Medium and low voltage over current protection systems and components.
  • Electrical distribution system coordination.
  • Arc flash studies and safety.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and one-line diagrams.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70 and 70E.
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution system maintenance.
  • Medium voltage switchgear testing and maintenance.
