Job Overview:



McDermott is looking for an engineering intern to join our Electrical Engineering team. As an intern, you will have the chance to learn about the electrical systems that power process plants. You will work in a project team environment, engaging with peers and mentors as you develop and review engineering documentation and grow in your career.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:



Develop and review Electrical datasheets (used to specify transformers, switchgear, UPS, etc). Support electrical procurement activities. Develop and review of electrical one-line diagrams, load list, calculations, and schematic & wiring diagrams. Gain exposure to the use of software tools such as ETAP and Smart Electrical on projects. Become familiar with codes & standards applicable to electrical engineering and design on projects.

Essential Qualifications and Education:



Recently graduated, or two semesters away from graduation, in a bachelor's engineering curriculum. Strong analytical and mathematic skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent time management and professionalism. Experience with using MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel). A growth mindset and willingness to learn and accept improvement feedback

Preferred Qualification and Education:



Experience working in databases. Familiar with AC & DC electrical power system components such as motors, transformers, switchgear, rectification & inverter technology, harmonic filtering, and power factor correction. Familiar with power systems analysis & calculations such as load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, etc.
