Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to support our growing company. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive electrical estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient under pressure, and communicates clearly with internal teams and external partners.

Experience with Conest estimating software is preferred, along with strong Microsoft Office proficiency and a solid understanding of electrical construction practices. Union trade experience or completion of a union apprenticeship program is a plus.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare complete quantity takeoffs and labor/material cost estimates for electrical projects Review project documents including plans, specifications, contracts, and addenda Perform field takeoffs and site evaluations as required Develop and submit competitive bids, proposals, RFQs, and RFP responses Solicit and evaluate vendor and supplier pricing for materials and equipment Identify scope inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and risks within estimates Prepare and submit change order pricing when applicable Attend pre-bid meetings, walkthroughs, and coordination meetings as needed Coordinate closely with Project Management on awarded projects Support project teams during construction with budget clarification and cost tracking Maintain organized estimating files and backup documentation Follow established Estimating standard operating procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes

Qualifications:

Required:

Experience in electrical construction estimating Strong written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to read and interpret electrical and construction drawings Positive and collaborative attitude
Preferred:

Experience with Conest estimating software Union apprenticeship or trade program completion Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and installation methods Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong understanding of electrical materials, labor units, and installation methods Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents Organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently Team-oriented mindset with cross-department collaboration skills Comfortable managing multiple bids simultaneously under time constraints

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Primarily office-based with routine jobsite visits Ability to walk active construction sites and wear PPE Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally

Pay: $70,000.00 - $94,000.00 per year
