Electrical Engineer III

to join our team.

Job Summary



Our Electrical Engineer III role is an operations-facing role with duties including designing, developing, and supervising all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. This is a leadership role with responsibilities that include project management, budget management, employee supervision and employee training. Electrical Engineer III must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Electrical/Controls Engineering field.

Responsibilities



Lead the design and development of electrical control systems, generating detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials in AutoCAD while ensuring accuracy, manufacturability, and adherence to project timelines and standards.

Interpret mechanical designs to define electrical requirements, power up and configure control hardware, and verify system functionality during build and commissioning.

Design, program, and debug PLC and HMI software; review and optimize legacy code to enhance system performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Electrical Engineers I & II, offering guidance in design methodology, troubleshooting, and project execution.

Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Applications, and Purchasing to implement innovative, cost-effective control solutions and system upgrades.

Evaluate components, materials, and processes to improve performance, cost efficiency, and long-term reliability, while staying current on emerging automation technologies.

Contribute to the development and review of technical documentation and equipment manuals for internal and customer use.

Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company procedures while supporting additional engineering initiatives as required.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in area of Electrical Engineering, Controls Preferred

8 years of electrical controls design experience with preference for packaging/production equipment

3 years experience in project management and people management

Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues

Proficiency in engineering systems, word processing and spreadsheet computer input skills

Expert in:

Design/Drafting Tool (i.e., AutoCAD)

Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) (i.e., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Panasonic)

Configuring and designing HMI/OIT systems (i.e., Allen Bradley, Panasonic)

Motion Controllers/Actuators. (i.e., Allen-Bradley, Siemens). This includes expertise with profiled (cams), coordinated motion, robotics

Industry Standards UL, CE, NEC & CSA

Networking and security with respect to industrial applications

Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment

Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to think designs through completely

Must be a self-starter, team player who works well with others and has a positive attitude

Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with all levels of employees and customers

Valid Driver's License
