The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Electrical Engineer in the Department of Community Development and Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general supervision, reviews plans and specifications for electrical requirements and code compliance while performing professional electrical engineering activities relating to residential, commercial, and industrial projects for the Department of Community Development and Services; and performs related duties as assigned Position Information:

  • The successful candidate\'s initial starting salary will be commensurate with the candidate\'s experience, and education, in addition to other internal considerations.
  • The City of Henderson is a part of the Nevada Public Employee Retirement Systems (NV PERS) and makes those PERS contributions on the employee\'s behalf. More information pertaining to NV PERS can be found
at the State of Nevada\'s PERS website * Standard working hours for this position will be Monday - Thursday from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30p.m.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience related to the electrical engineering field
  • Certifications:
  • Must obtain and maintain certification by the International Code Council (ICC) as a Building Plans Examiner AND Electrical Plans Examiner within one (1) year of appointment as a condition of continued employment
  • Professional Licensure:
  • Must possess and maintain licensure as a Nevada professional electrical engineer, as defined by NRS 625, as a condition of continued employment;
OR * Must possess licensure as a professional electrical engineer in another state. Applicants selecting this option must obtain and maintain licensure as a Nevada professional electrical engineer, as defined by NRS 625, through comity within six (6) months of appointment as a condition of continued employment
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or \xe2\x80\x9cborder state\xe2\x80\x9d driver\'s license, as defined by NRS 483

The assessment and selection process for this position will take place on the dates listed above. All candidates who wish to be considered for this position will need to be in Henderson, Nevada, and make themselves available to participate in the testing process at any time on any of the dates listed above.

This process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
