Your Responsibilities

As an Electrical Design Engineer for John Deere Small Excavators located in Dubuque, IA, you will, support the Small Excavator Electrical System Design Development. In addition, you will:

  • Collaborate within a cross functional team to develop electrical designs that meet customer needs
  • Support the design and print development for small excavator electrical components within the product delivery process of new product programs
  • Support physical builds, production launches, testing, and customer field evaluations

What Skills You Need
  • Experience in a Product Engineering Design environment
  • Experience with product development processes
  • Strong desire and ability to learn and apply electrical component design principals to ongoing design activities
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to analyze technical data, consider multiple alternatives, and provide data-driven decisions/recommendations
  • Knowledge of electrical components such as batteries, starters, alternators, rocker switches, relays, solenoids, sensors, actuators, and connectors
  • Experience managing projects
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestic and internationally, up to 25%
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Familiarity with construction, agriculture, or forestry equipment
  • Cross-functional experience related to verification, performance evaluation, software, and/or manufacturing teams
  • Working knowledge of John Deere product development processes
  • Experience working with system requirements, electronic hardware, circuit design and analysis
  • Experience with Vspy, CPS Test Tool, Service Advisor, Visio, yED and Matlab/Simulink
Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering
