Electrical & Assembly Technician
The Electricial & Assembly Technician is responsible for building, wiring, and assembling high-quality automated packaging machinery and control systems. This role combines electrical panel fabrication with mechanical assembly, ensuring machines are built to exact specifications and operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. The technician will work on control panels, machine wiring, mechanical builds, troubleshooting, testing, and installation of safety devices across various automated systems, including PLCs, drives, motion controls, robots, pneumatics, and sensing technologies.
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring an 8-hour shift, 5 days per week, with occasional overtime as needed to support production demands in a safe manufacturing environment.
What You?ll Do as an Electricial & Assembly Technician
Electrical Panel & Machine Wiring
Lay out, assemble, drill, tap, and wire electrical control panels and enclosures.
Make cutouts and holes for components in panels and electrical boxes.
Wire machine field I/O back to control panels.
Install, test, and verify operation of all machine safety devices.
Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
Troubleshoot electrical systems using multimeters and precision tools.
Mechanical Assembly
Assemble mechanical parts, subassemblies, and components according to blueprints, instructions, and specifications.
Fit, position, and align components using precision measurement tools.
Inspect assemblies for fit, accuracy, and performance; adjust or correct issues as needed.
Assist with troubleshooting and repair of automated machinery, including conveyors and pneumatic systems.
Perform basic preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
General Responsibilities
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
Follow all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements.
Contribute to continuous productivity and quality improvements.
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Ensure efficient use of materials and resources.
Maintain consistent attendance and on-site presence as required.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Two or more years of electrical or mechanical experience in a manufacturing, industrial, OEM, or military environment.
Experience in machining, robotics, or mechanical assembly is a plus.
Ability and willingness to work overtime when required.
Experience troubleshooting conveyors, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and technical documents.
Strong understanding of safety practices and regulations.
You?re Skilled At
Standing for long periods and working beneath machinery using a creeper or similar device.
Lifting and moving up to 30 lbs safely.
Reading and interpreting detailed plans, blueprints, and measurement scales down to 1/32? and 1/64?.
Using sheet-metal tools, electrical tools, and precision hand tools (e.g., wire cutters, screwdrivers, crimpers).
Laying out mechanical and electrical components with accuracy and attention to detail.
Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues with confidence and precision.
