- Assemble electronic components using manual processes, including stuffing, mechanical assembly, hand assembly, and soldering (both lead and lead-free), ensuring all soldering tasks meet IPC Class 3 workmanship standards.
Required for aerospace, defense, medical devices, avionics, life-support or safety-critical systems
No tolerance for defects -- work must be precise, clean, and reliable
Solder joints must be properly wetted, uniform, and completely free of pits, cracks, voids, or contamination
Very strict on component alignment, lead trim, solder amount, and cleanliness
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 year of experience in electronics assembly
Have hands-on Class 3 assembly experience
Have worked with tight tolerances and strict quality systems
Demonstrate strong attention to detail
Are comfortable working under a microscope
Understand why Class 3 is held to a higher standard
Produce consistent, repeatable workmanship
Can explain Class 2 vs. Class 3 differences
