El Gaucho Boise is seeking dedicated Prep Cooks to support our kitchen operations. You'll be responsible for preparing ingredients and components that are essential to our menu, working efficiently to ensure the kitchen is ready for service.
You'll prepare vegetables, proteins, stocks, and sauces according to El Gaucho's recipes and standards. Your attention to detail, knife skills, and ability to follow instructions are essential to supporting our culinary team.
Responsibilities:
Prepare ingredients for all kitchen stations according to recipes
Maintain proper food storage and labeling procedures
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Keep prep areas clean and organized
Assist with inventory and stock rotation
Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership
Complete prep lists efficiently and accurately
Support line cooks during service as needed
Minimize waste through proper portioning and storage
Requirements
Minimum 6 months kitchen experience preferred
Basic knife skills and food preparation knowledge
Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely
Understanding of food safety practices
Dependable and reliable
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Professional appearance
Flexibility for early morning, evening, and weekend shifts
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be 18 years or older
Compensation: $19/hour
