Fort Wayne, IN

area is currently looking for a motivated

EHS Assistant Manager

to join their team. The ideal candidate has proven leadership and EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

EHS Assistant Manager Responsibilities

:

Assist EHS Manager in overseeing the entire EHS department and support supervisors in the managing of daily activities Ensure training materials, plans, and competency checks are in place for EHS associates and provide ongoing feedback Supervise safety programs for all associates, ensuring all safety guidelines are followed Assist with OSHA compliance and ensure proper documentation is filed Investigate safety incidents and report findings, tracking resolutions for all known issues Assist with the development and implementation of EHS procedures Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all local/state/federal EHS regulations and ensure compliance Assist with disciplinary actions as needed Manage scheduling including overtime and vacation time for direct reports Ensure a safe and clean working environment Perform other tasks as assigned

EHS Assistant Manager Qualifications

:

Bachelor or Associate degree in related field, Environmental Health and Safety degree is ideal or equivalent combination of education and experience Must have prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive or industrial manufacturing Experience with ISO 14001 is strongly preferred Prior experience working with safety management and quality (root cause analysis) Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment Maintain all required records and documentation. Ability to work responsibly, effectively, and independently when needed This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.*
