Job Description


C2 Technologies seeks an Educational Technologist to work closely with Courseware Manager, other Educational Technologists, programmers, Multi-Media Specialists, and other team members.

Summary

Develops training solutions using the ISD methodology. Conducts analysis: Needs Analysis, Job/Task Analysis and Front-End Analysis. Develops design plans for paper, video, CBT, and WBT that includes developing learning objectives, determining functionality and navigation strategies, documenting minimum technical specifications (user and client), determining learning strategies and content flow, determining testing/evaluation requirements and interactivity, and planning the CMI functionality.

Develops instructor and student guides, storyboards to include content and theme; defines all media elements (graphics, animations, video, audio); and explains programming requirements. Writes narration scripts and plans music/sound effects. Confers with SMEs. Assists with writing Technical Approach for proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Creates design plan for training projects (paper, CBT, WBT, video, DVD)
  • Develops concepts/themes and instructional strategies for projects
  • Creates reports, design plans, and storyboards within timeframe given with little or no supervision
  • Interacts with customer SME without supervision
  • Advises Courseware Manager of scope issues
  • Coordinates with graphics and programmers in developing paper, IBT, video, CBT/WBT projects
  • Works on a variety of assignments simultaneously
  • Can conduct every facet of the ISD process with little supervision and guidance
  • Coordinate/schedule lesson assignments in accordance with Courseware Delivery Schedule.
  • Monitor Small Group Tryouts and make corrections to instruction materials, as required.
  • Update/maintain Training Management System
  • Is able to obtain security clearances


Requirements
  • B.S. or B.A. preferred; M.A./M.E. or in Adult Learning Theory, Human Performance Technology, Instructional Technology, or Education equivalent preferred
  • 4+ years of training-related experience; must have extensive knowledge of the Instructional Systems Design model to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs
  • Thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience of the ISD process in the development of instructor-based training (IBT), computer-based training (CBT), web-based training (WBT), and blended learning solutions
  • Experience with web/multimedia development tools such as Flash Captivate and DreamweaverAnimate, and with graphic design/manipulation tools such as Photoshop, a plus
  • Knowledge/experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS), SCORM, and Section 508 desired
  • Experience conducting all types of analyses, focus groups, and all levels of evaluation
  • Ability to develop instructionally sound learning solutions and testing materials with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to apply creative instructional themes and strategies to a variety of delivery media, including classroom and online
  • Experience working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Ability to work effectively (adaptably and flexibly) in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • Effective communication skills in the interaction with the client, training development team, and management
  • Web 2.0 knowledge and experience a plus
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision

  • Working on gaining an understanding of various government contracts
