Special Education Ed Tech I Margaret Chase Smith Community School Early Childhood Special Education Preschool ages 3-5 years multiple positions

This position will entail working within KVCAP preschool classrooms to support children with IEPs.

Current Maine DOE Ed Tech I certification required

Description:

The Educational Technician supports the instruction and development of children with identified developmental disabilities under the guidance of a certified teacher. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in preschool settings and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A current Educational Technician certification and successful completion of a criminal history background check are required.

Responsibilities:

Supervise individual students or small groups in center-based programs under indirect professional supervision. Support the implementation of educational programs, contributing to curriculum planning to create an inclusive environment with necessary accommodations for optimal learning. Assist in preparing classroom materials and supporting classroom management, as well as individual student needs including but not limited to therapy carryover, toileting, eating, dressing and daily living needs. Demonstrate developmentally appropriate, positive language and behavior as a model for children and families. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, advocate for student needs, and provide follow-through on recommendations under the direction of the Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. Contribute to the completion and maintenance of individual observational child assessments. Maintain confidentiality regarding all student and employee information.

Minimum Qualifications:

Obtain and maintain authorization as an Educational Technician with the Maine Department of Education Successful background, criminal records, fingerprinting and reference check

Pay: $18.31 - $20.07 per hour
