About the Position

Heart-Centered Health is looking for a skilled

Special Education Coordinator

to join the team at Pine Ridge School. This role focuses on supporting students with diverse learning needs by overseeing special education services, guiding IEP processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.

This position will work onsite at the school campus in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Candidates living in Chadron or within commuting distance are strongly encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities

Coordinate special education programming and daily operations Manage the full Individualized Education Program (IEP) cycle, including meetings, documentation, and follow-up Ensure all services and procedures meet IDEA and school requirements Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, school administrators, and families Support staff in implementing accommodations, interventions, and specialized instruction Maintain organized student records and compliance files Communicate regularly with team members to support student progress

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or related field At least 3 years of experience in a special education role Strong understanding of IEP development, compliance standards, and evaluations Effective communication and leadership skills Ability to work onsite in Pine Ridge daily

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Special Education or Education Leadership Experience working in rural schools or tribal education settings Familiarity with BIE school operations

Pay & Work Environment

$65,000-$75,000 per year
