The Editor works under the direction of the Associate General Manager and in collaboration with other editors in the Parish, Schools, and Small Groups Unit and the product development team to set the editorial direction and vision for products. The Editor works in conjunction with the product team and outside authors to create editorial schedules, including key milestones and deadlines, to drive projects efficiently through development, production, and launch. Depending on the project\'s needs, the Editor arranges and coordinates with contractors for writing, editing, copywriting, proofing, and other various contributions.
The Editor also serves in various roles (as indicated per project), including editor, developmental writer, copywriter, and reviewer. The Editor is responsible for the theological review of assigned faith formation resources and collateral to ensure their theological accuracy and completeness, i.e., fidelity to the teachings of the Church. When called for, this position also submits material for nihil obstat and imprimatur review, as well as USCCB Conformity, as indicated.
The Editor ensures that all written material adheres to the Ascension style guide and brand manual and seeks to continually analyze and improve the overall editorial process for improved effectiveness and efficiency.
