ICF\xe2\x80\x99s Regulatory, Policy and Economics business portfolio at ICF supports primarily public-sector clients with research, analysis, technical assistance, and implementation support to help them address complex policy, management, and regulatory challenges. We provide innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality analyses and support services. We estimate the environmental, safety, and social impacts of regulations, policies, and programs and assess their costs, benefits, and economic impacts. We also evaluate program effectiveness. We work with virtually all federal agencies and with state and local agencies and select non-profit and private-sector clients. Our key clients include the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Agriculture, Department of Transportation, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Labor, Department of Interior, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

This full-time position will be located in Cambridge, MA; Reston, VA; Research Triangle Park, NC; or New York (with flexibility for telework considered) and is available immediately.

Job Responsibilities:

As an Economics Analyst, you will provide applied research and consulting services in support of national-level programs focused primarily on addressing a range of environmental and natural resource policy issues, including agriculture. You will provide a wide range of support services to improve the effectiveness of regulatory and non-regulatory programs and assess their costs, benefits, and economic impacts.

Specific duties may include:

• Analyzing and synthesizing information from policy documents, literature, or other technical reports to support program design or implementation.
• Performing cost-benefit, statistical/econometrics, economic modelling, or other quantitative analyses to assess industry response to changing regulatory requirements.
• Developing analytical methods, databases, and models (e.g., in Excel, R) to quantify costs, benefits, or other regulatory impacts.
• Conducting life-cycle assessments.
• Conducting energy resilience planning.
• Providing other general program and data analysis support.

The bulk of your work will be on domestic environmental and natural resource issues. You will work in collaboration with senior and junior staff within a multidisciplinary team that includes economists, scientists, and engineers. You will also have direct contact with clients and will contribute to expanding our business.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree plus 2 years of relevant work experience (or a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree) in economics (agricultural/forestry/applied/natural resource/environmental included), public policy, environmental science, or a related discipline with strong quantitative skills and an outstanding academic record.
• 1+ year experience in MS Office applications, particularly Excel. Demonstrated knowledge of data analysis and modeling approaches and scripting software (e.g., R, Stata, Python).

Preferred qualifications:

Demonstrated skills (through employment or academic coursework) in the following areas: economic and environmental analysis methods; working with economic, and/or environmental data; federal environmental and natural resource policies, including but not limited to land use change, biofuels, and agriculture; greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and developing GHG reduction scenarios; industry or academic experience with the utility/energy sector; and life-cycle analysis.

Prior consulting experience is highly desirable.

Professional skills:

• As this is a client-facing role, excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Very strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently and to apply a variety of technical skills and innovative thinking to solve problems.
• Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects concurrently under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is: $58,520.00 - $99,484.00
