Provides technical expertise, recommendations, and written solutions to the Business Development Team to include but not limited to the following:
In addition to BMET level I duties shall include but are not limited to (advanced): Life cycle management, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of medical and non-medical support equipment (oxygen generating systems, radiographic diagnostics equipment, life support systems, etc.).
Initial inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, general maintenance, and repair of medical and non-medical general support equipment (medical package tools and equipment, i.e., generators, environmental control units, etc.).
Follow original equipment manufacturer guidance, AFI, regulations, and unit direction.
Requires a basic understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, planning work schedules, selecting tools and test instruments, and understanding compliance with maintenance instructions and technical directives.
Work may be reviewed by the Supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices.
Applies basic technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining malfunctions and applies skill in restoring equipment operations.
This technician works under immediate supervision and receives technical guidance, as required, from a higher-level technician or the supervisor.
Performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Must obtain annual influenza inoculations; proof of vaccination is required.
Up to 30% percent travel annually.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Application of technical knowledge of electronic principles in determining malfunctions and skill application in restoring equipment systems and operations.
Applicable operations experience.
Prior experience in the electronics maintenance field.
Prior experience in repair.
Basic understanding of processes, as well as the Microsoft Office Professional suite of software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum Education: Accredited associate degree.
Four years of field experience in performing and managing: initial inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, life cycle management, and repair of medical equipment within Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidance, advanced; diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of medical and non-medical support equipment (oxygen generating systems, radiographic diagnostics equipment, advanced life support systems, etc.).
Field experience using Medical Material Information Systems (MMIS).
Must have graduated from The DoD Biomedical Maintenance Course or an accredited civilian Biomedical Maintenance.
May be required to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
