Job Description

Performs transthoracic echocardiograms on patients. Assist physicians with technical acquisition of Stress Echocardiograms. Perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects The Vancouver Clinic mission and philosophy.

Current registration in Adult Echocardiography and American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). A.S. Degree in Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred. Minimum one year experience performing and interpreting 2D, M-Mode, and Doppler Echocardiograms Minimum one year experience in performing stress echoes. Current BCLS certification. Knowledge of current accepted Echocardiography principles, practices, and techniques, including cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required. Skilled in optimal 2D/m-mode/Doppler image acquisition and optimal image/Doppler presentation on videotape. Ability to analyze severity/importance of findings and respond to or report findings accurately and appropriately. Knowledge of sterile techniques. Ability to communicate effectively, and interact professionally with patients, physicians, coworkers, and other health care providers.

Ability to acquire technically proficient Echocardiograms without direct supervision and in emergency situation's.
