We are seeking a highly motivated, organized Early Career Civil / Water Resources Engineer to support water resources engineering projects for the southeast region, based out of Wilmington, Raleigh, Charlotte, Asheville, NC or Greenville, SC offices. The position will work with a multi-disciplinary team where you will apply your academic and practical knowledge to real-world situations related to water resources and ecological restoration projects while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

• Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis and modeling;
• Watershed, stormwater management, and stream restoration design and analysis;
• Surface water quality/hydrodynamic modeling and environmental data analysis;
• Green infrastructure/low impact development best management practice design;
• Floodplain modeling and permitting;
• Erosion and sediment control design;
• Clean Water Act/National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance
• Civil/infrastructure design and site layout;
• Site visits/field investigations; and
• Preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, etc.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

• Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid, CPR, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
• Fieldwork: Up to 25%
• Overnight travel: As projects require.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

• Bachelor\'s degree in civil, environmental, biosystems engineering or related science. (required)
• Advanced degree in engineering or science. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with modeling/design tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and TR-55. (preferred)
• Valid U.S. driver s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
