POSITION SUMMARY

Eugene Field Early Learning Center is seeking a caring, dependable individual to join our preschool team as a Classroom Support Staff member. This role works closely with the classroom teacher to create a positive, developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 3-5.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma required Experience working with young children preferred Ability to independently supervise up to 12 preschool-age students when needed Strong communication and teamwork skills

SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday 12:30 PM-5:30 PM 10-month position with the option for summer employment

RESPONSIBLE TO

Classroom Teacher & Building Principal

PRIMARY DUTIES

Assist in creating a warm, engaging classroom atmosphere that supports learning and exploration. Help reinforce age-appropriate expectations and routines to promote positive behavior. Support daily instruction by monitoring and engaging with students while the lead and assistant teacher work with small groups or individuals. Participate actively in indoor play, learning centers, and hands-on activities. Provide active supervision during outdoor play and follow safety expectations at all times. Support meal routines, including sanitizing tables, distributing food, and cleaning up. Supervise students during nap/rest time and ensure a calm environment. Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity to meet the needs of all children and families. Communicate information to families as directed by the teacher or administration. Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities. Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, students, and families. Carry out additional duties assigned by the teacher or building administration.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS

Part-time position following the Teacher Assistant/Classroom Support Staff pay scale. Benefits include health insurance, paid sick leave, and personal leave.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policy for classified staff.

Pay: $11.75 - $13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 per week
