Job Description

Under the direction of the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) Director of Early College, the Early College Coordinator supports Early College students with dual credit admissions, academic advising, and post-secondary transition to college. The coordinator serves students at Canyon Ridge High School (CRHS) as well as any other schools assigned by the supervisor in Region IV. The position emphasizes building strong relationships with high school students, faculty, and staff. The role will focus on fostering a sense of belonging and promoting student success in postsecondary education.
Essential Functions

  • Serve as an Early College Coordinator for students at CRHS and any other Region IV high school as assigned.
  • Support high school students, staff, and faculty with dual credit processes, including admissions, advising and registration.
  • Engage with students via email, phone, Zoom, and in one-on-one or small group settings to develop individualized academic and college plans through effective advising.
  • Assist students with enrollment processes for post-secondary education, including admission applications, course registration, certificate of residency forms, and financial aid, Launch funding, scholarships applications, etc.
  • Work with the Early College Director to implement strategies for student retention.
  • Actively participate in high school-sponsored events promoting college attainment, such as postsecondary testing and school-sponsored tours pertaining to Early College.
  • Utilize Institutional Research (IR) data tools to collect, retrieve, and analyze student information from high schools for recruitment, advising, and retention.
  • Connect students to Idaho's Advanced Opportunities funding to support their education and facilitate earning college credit during high school.
  • Collaborate with CSI Admissions, Bridge to Success, and Enrollment Services teams to guide students through enrollment processes and connect them to resources.
  • Participate in campus events involving assigned high schools.
  • Engage students' parents or guardians in postsecondary planning through Early College events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Associate degree (bachelor's degree in leadership or Higher Education, or related field preferred) from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the duties and responsibilities in the job description.
  • Two or more years of experience involving exceptional customer service.
  • Strong focus on student, team, and college success.
  • Great attitude and willingness to serve.
  • Exhibit and promote an atmosphere of unity and collaboration.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to additional hours to achieve departmental goals.
  • Dependable and reliable with work schedule.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good judgement and professionalism in dealing with pressures and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong computer and technical skillset.
  • Willingness to receive additional training to improve job skills.
  • Knowledge of career exploration resources, industry trends, and local labor market needs.
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including high school personnel, college faculty, and community partners.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Student advising experience.
  • College and career planning experience
  • Previous experience with Dual Credit
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Road travel to various high school sites
  • May require the use of a personal, reliable vehicle. Mileage relating to and from high schools from an established base (campus or off-campus center) will be reimbursed at the institutional rate.
  • Evening and weekend work will be required during certain periods of the year.
