Educare of Omaha, Inc. is a collaborative partnership between the Early Head Start/Head Start, Omaha Public Schools and the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. Comprised of the two Educare Omaha Schools (Kellom and Indian Hill) and the three Early Learning Centers (Skinner, Gateway and Kennedy), the mission of Educare of Omaha, Inc. is to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 0 to 5 years through the provision of evidence-based education, health, nutritional, social, family engagement and other services to enrolled children and their families.

POSITION DETAILS



The

Early Childhood Coach

is responsible for coaching classroom teachers utilizing the selected research-based model, reviewing educational plans, and providing lesson plan feedback. He/She is also responsible for modeling developmentally appropriate practices and instructional techniques ensuring teachers meet the individual needs of children as well as the program standards of Educare of Omaha, Early Head Start/Head Start, Sixpence, and the Nebraska state licensing guidelines.

SCHEUDLE




Full Time (40 hours per week, Monday-Friday); 12 Months; Exempt. The typical work schedule is 9:00am-5:30pm with flexibility available as needed. The schedule will vary based on the needs of the school and the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Program Implementation

Review education plans for children and provide regular constructive, individualized feedback to teachers. Engage in regular coaching practice with classroom teachers to drive high quality program practices, focusing on collaborative problem-solving, strategic planning and goal setting, and progress evaluation. Assist teachers in interpreting assessment data to inform professional development goals, plan classroom experiences, and facilitate meaningful conversations with families. Model developmentally appropriate early childhood instructional techniques and practices in the classroom, including Conscious Discipline, Touchpoint Principles and the programs' research-based coaching model. Cover in classrooms as necessary to meet staffing ratios. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in identifying any barriers for children and families as it relates to engaging in Early Childhood Educational services. Including participation in IDT, IFSP/IEP meetings as necessary. Completes all assigned internal monitoring.

Coaching

Provide regular coaching (individual and group) to education staff and document in the programs identified database. Provide feedback to the Early Childhood Supervisor regarding introductory and annual employee evaluations. Utilize a defined assessment tool to determine dosage for individual teacher coaching. Develop a high-level understanding of the CLASS assessment tool and become reliable in CLASS observations. Collaboratively implement a coaching process with education staff to promote high quality instruction to include onboarding activities. In collaboration with the Early Childhood Supervisor, coordinate regular teacher meetings. Deliver high-quality coaching and guidance to education staff to ensure compliance with state, local, and federal regulations, as well as to drive excellence in assessments and evaluations conducted by our local evaluation partner. Identify and coordinate professional development opportunities for staff in collaboration with the School Director and participate in creating and implementing a comprehensive training plan to enhance staff skills and knowledge. Support implementation of new strategies gained through training. Provide lesson plan feedback and ensure implementation of lesson plan activities in the classroom. Collaborate with education staff to set and achieve goals using our research-based coaching model, documenting progress in the designated database throughout coaching cycles. Ensure documentation panels and student work are consistently posted and updated in classrooms and hallways, aligning with lesson plan objectives and showcasing student learning achievements.

Administration

Prepare monthly reports. Participate in reflective supervision regularly with the School Director to receive guidance, report progress, plan new strategies, discuss problems, and receive information on program policies and procedures. Assist with interviewing and onboarding/orienting educational staff in partnership with the School Director and HR Team, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires. Provide orientation to new staff, volunteers, and practicum students as needed. Coordinate and facilitate special program events in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Monitor all coaching related activities in the education program, using required monitoring tools and reports. In collaboration with the Early Childhood Supervisor and the multidisciplinary team, recommend and develop individualized services for children to ensure seamless integration of student goals into educational plans.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree in Education (Early Childhood preferred)

. Three to five years of classroom experience teaching children birth to five required. Must be able to pass a background check that meets compliance standards.
