Direct Support Professional

CANDIDATE MUST BE AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER WITH MARYLAND DRIVER'S LICENSE

Pay rate: $18.50 to $19 per hour

Monday to Friday, 8AM TO 4PM

Providing individualized support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The DSP assists individuals in achieving their goals, promoting independence, and fostering a positive quality of life.

Responsibilities:

Drive client(s) from residence to the day program, doctor appointments etc Provide one-on-one support in various activities, including daily living skills, community integration, and leisure activities. Assist with personal care tasks Facilitate communication and social interactions. Maintain a safe and comfortable living environment. Accompany individuals to community outings, appointments, and activities. Support participation in community events and programs. Administer medications as prescribed, following proper procedures and documentation. Implement positive behavior support strategies to address challenging behaviors. Promote positive reinforcement and redirection techniques. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, including incident reports and progress notes. Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in the day program. Report any concerns or incidents to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required Valid Maryland driver's license plus driving experience in Maryland. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. Completion of training in CPR, First Aid, and CMT, Bloodborne pathogens, MANDT
