Job Description

Summary: The Day Support DSP Team Lead-B is a support position for the Day Support Manager and New Point Life Services. The position leads, inspires, motivates, and provides suggestions to help their team reach certain goals in the workplace. The Team Lead will demonstrate and provide the most compassionate, least restrictive, community-based care for the individuals to ensure the highest possible quality of life. In addition, this Team Lead is responsible for components of community outings, community engagement, training, weekly vehicle upkeep, daily attendance, and transportation billing.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE




1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.



High School Diploma or GED

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

The employee must have:



Efficient organization skills Knowledge of developmental disabilities Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft products such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively Ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision Ability to be flexible in times of staff shortage no matter the program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Perform DSP job duties. Complete attendance daily on individuals attending Day Support. Submit attendance weekly to the Finance Department. Ensure transportation billing forms are completed entirely and accurately before submission. Gather and prepare all supplies needed for community outings to include personal care items, adequate fluids, PPE, etc. Complete the Day Support monthly activity calendar and ensure it is distributed accordingly. Complete the Day Support daily schedule and post on the board/electronic communication. Prepare Community Outing Forms and disperse for each outing. Gather Community Outing Forms daily and ensure forms are complete, accurate, and signed off by the minimum of a lead. Conduct on site popup visits to community outings and check for compliance per New Point Life Services policy. Ensure staff are trained on behavior plans and behavior data collection. Ensure behavior plans are up to date and available to staff daily. Oversee the collection of behavior data to ensure data is accurate and completed daily. Oversee the stock of cleaning supplies and communicate when things need to be ordered. Manage the laundry room and kitchen areas to ensure they are stocked, clean, and functioning properly. Monitor communication apps and company software programs daily such as Band, Theraps, and QuickMar. Provide observation and feedback of shift function as it pertains to the above listed items. Provide onsite training such as proper vehicle use and proper securing of wheelchairs on the vehicles to new staff during their first 30 days. Greet visitors and Support Coordinators and ensure proper sign in and field questions. Correspond with case managers, family members, and potential individuals in a professional manner. Facilitate and participate in scheduled staff and management meetings, required trainings, and required certifications. Work collaboratively with the manager to ensure the DSP's implement support instructions according to the individual's plan. Act as support to Manager when on vacation or offsite. May be required to attend intake/annual meetings. All other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger handle, feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally not exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Some travel may be required.
