Responsibilities

Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across designated routes. Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods while adhering to safety protocols. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Navigate assigned routes effectively, managing delivery schedules and communicating proactively with dispatch teams for updates or adjustments. Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit, ensuring cargo integrity upon arrival. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and route records for compliance and operational purposes. Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies to promote a safe working environment at all times.

Skills

Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on freight delivery; familiarity with route driving is essential. Strong knowledge of vehicle operation including manual transmission trucks and specialized equipment like forklifts. Ability to operate various truck types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks confidently. Excellent driving skills with a clean record; experience with tractor-trailers or commercial driving licenses (CDL) preferred. Competence in load securing techniques and understanding of safety standards related to freight transportation. Physical ability to load/unload cargo manually or using equipment; comfortable working in different weather conditions.
