Program: Transportation/Norwalk Transit Authority

Position Length: Length of active contract with Norwalk Transit

Qualifications: V-Endorsement on Driver's License, a minimum of 3 years' driving experience, clean driving record, solid customer service skills, ability to operate handicap lift, safe driving habits.

Job Purpose: The Driver performs under supervision, all Driver tasks required by the Transportation Department.

Job Responsibilities:

Observe rules/regulations outlined in The Transportation Handbook observe CT State Motor Vehicle rules/regulations attend scheduled driver meetings Maintain complete/accurate records Report information to the Transportation Mgr. pertaining to delays/emergencies in a timely and accurate manner Report information pertaining to vehicle/equipment malfunction Observe safety/security procedures Maintain interior/exterior of assigned vehicle Adhere to established routing in completion of daily run Complete pre-check of vehicle prior to commencing daily run Report incidents/accidents/unusual behavior people on board vehicle Maintain visual supervision of people on board vehicle Perform such other duties appropriately assigned by the immediate supervisor
