DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will engage in a range of technical tasks that support civil, mining, and environmental engineering initiatives within the Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation (BAMR). Your responsibilities will focus on projects related to abandoned mine land (AML) reclamation and abandoned mine drainage (AMD) remediation. These projects encompass various activities, including surface mine reclamation, mine fire and subsidence control, closure of mine openings, and the extension or replacement of water supply lines. Additionally, you will be involved in the evaluation, operation, monitoring, maintenance, and rehabilitation of both active and passive AMD treatment facilities. It will be essential for you to interpret and apply relevant guidance, standards, procedures, and regulations, exercising judgment to make necessary minor adaptations and modifications.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework:

You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Salary:

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience as a Drafter (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);

or

Two years of experience as an Environmental Engineering Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration), which includes a minimum of one year of engineering, architectural or survey drafting work, including or supplemented by six months of CADD experience or training;

or

Two years of experience in engineering, architectural or survey drafting work, including or supplemented by six months of CADD experience or training, and an Associate's Degree in the field of engineering technology or Computer Aided Drafting and Design;

or

An equivalent combination of experience and/or training, including or supplemented by six months of CADD experience or training.
