Job Description

TRAILS Ministries is a holistic, faith-based approach to assisting those impacted directly or indirectly by the trauma of incarceration. This process begins during an individual's incarceration, for both themselves and their families, and continues through the redeeming processes of restoration and reunification.

Job Purpose:





The role of a Driver is to provide a delivery service and transport participants in a comfortable, safe and timely manner. Driver duties specific to the DOVE program are to establish and build relationships with participants, be actively involved in the community exploration/service opportunities as well as record and communicate important notes regarding participants involved in the program. TRAILS Ministries offers transportation assistance for all participants in our programming.




Duties and responsibilities:




Responsible for picking up and dropping off assigned participants at their homes or other locations and program site as designated by the Program Coordinator; drive participants to appointments during program time and on program trips. Maintain effective communication with participant or parent/caregiver ensure per DOVE transportation policies; adhere to all PA cell phone laws. Arrive promptly at assigned pick up and program site; times may vary based on activities and program schedule Ensure all passengers are seated and properly restrained with seat belts Maintain a positive, calm attitude and establish authority with the participants demonstrating respect and building relationships Maintain daily vehicle log, at least half tank of fuel, appropriate tire pressure, and clean interior and exterior Report any vehicle issues or damage immediately to the Transportation Manager Report all participant incidents to DOVE Program Coordinator as soon as possible, no later than end of shift Ensure vehicle has a full tank at the end of each week and before a break in programming Be present at programming when not transporting as supportive staff on site Assist facilitators/others activities with participants when asked, including off site trips Plan and supervise participant Community Service daily tasks on and off site; track hours daily & report weekly; drive and supervise participants (with at least one other staff member) outside of program time for Community Service hour completion.



Qualifications:




High school diploma or equivalent education required Clean driving record Valid driver's license and automobile insurance Pass required state mandated clearances




Physical Requirements:



While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.




Pay Rate:

Semi-monthly pay at a starting yearly salary of $30,000.


Schedule:

Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.
