Job Summary

: The selected candidate will manage Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance and safety programs at RAM Enterprise, Inc., including maintaining driver qualification files, auditing the DOT program, and providing training across the organization. They will help oversee commercial vehicles, trailers, drivers, and related assets along with the fleet manager, ensuring compliance with policies, safety standards, and optimal performance. The DOT Compliance Supervisor will also focus on maximizing cost-efficiency and safety in vehicle and driver utilization.


This is a salary, exempt role, located in the Elko, NV facility reporting directly to the Corporate Safety & Compliance Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

:


Manages system acquisitions, operations, and maintenance of the organization's DOT-regulated motor fleet system. Handles claims filing with insurance for any fleet accidents/incidents, including towing and repairs. Assists in scheduling DOT vehicle maintenance for compliance. Develops and implements DOT safety standards, maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Conducts DOT training courses. Leads DOT-related incidents with support from safety, operations, and HR. Aids in creating and adhering to DOT compliance budgets with safety and operations teams. Monitors and improves transportation processes. Helps develop cost-reduction methods to improve fleet efficiency. Maintains 100% accurate documentation in databases. Works closely with the safety team to ensure compliance. Available for various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with required travel. Supports Fleet Manager, Mechanics, in standardizing vehicle ordering and reducing costs. Creates and manages system databases for registration, insurance, and compliance. Collaborate with Leaders to address fleet deficiencies and ensures proper vehicle care and maintenance in a timely manner. Updates and maintains DVIR program, DOT DVIR program, and reporting statistics for fleet maintenance and failures. Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:




Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, IFTA, MCS-150, CSA, UCR, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Minimum 3 years of fleet and compliance management experience. Must maintain a Class A CDL as per FMCSA standards. Strong understanding of department processes and functions. Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills. Expertise in driving, delivery, vehicle maintenance programs, and industry best practices. Basic math and data analysis skills. Familiar with transportation scheduling and HOS tracking software such as Geotab, Encompass Etc. Basic vehicle mechanical knowledge for identifying major repairs from vault codes reported in systems. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. Organized, skilled in time management and multitasking. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Company safety requirements for DOT compliance. Ability to develop positive working relationships and communicate effectively. Self-motivated with a commitment to hands on training, class room training and development.

Criteria/Conditions




Work is performed in various industrial settings, including shop environment, mining environment, and construction environment. While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see. May, on occasion, be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) during the workday. Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hardhat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.
