Summary

We are seeking a Donation & Pet Food Pantry Assistant to join our team in Fort Wayne. This role is vital in supporting our mission by managing donations and assisting with our pet food pantry services, ensuring that pets in need receive essential supplies.

Responsibilities

Safely drive the organization's cargo van to pick up and deliver donations from community partners, businesses, and individuals. Maintain accurate logs of pickups, deliveries, and mileage. Load and unload donations, ensuring items are handled with care. Assist with sorting, organizing, and stocking donated items, including pet food and supplies. Identify items unsuitable for distribution and follow disposal guidelines. Ensure donations are stored in a clean, orderly, and accessible manner. Assist the manager with preparation, setup, and execution of pantry distributions. Provide friendly, respectful assistance to clients and volunteers during distribution events. Help with packaging and distributing pet food to clients. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the donation and pantry areas. Support special projects and events as assigned. Report vehicle maintenance needs, safety concerns, or inventory shortages to the manager.

Qualifcations

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Commitment to Humane Fort Wayne's mission of supporting pets and families in need. Comfortable driving a cargo van in city and rural areas. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Positive, team-oriented attitude with good communication skills.
