Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Dog Yard Attendant to join our team and ensure the safety, cleanliness, and well-being of our canine residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, strong handling skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role involves supervising dogs in the yard, assisting with pet care tasks, and maintaining a clean and safe outdoor space for animals. Prior experience in veterinary settings, pet grooming, or animal handling is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the health and happiness of our pets while gaining valuable experience in animal care.

Responsibilities

Supervise dogs in the outdoor yard, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Assist with dog training activities and reinforce positive behaviors Handle animals gently and effectively using proper restraint techniques Maintain cleanliness of the yard area, including cleaning up waste and debris Assist with pet grooming, feeding, and basic veterinary care as needed Monitor dogs for signs of stress or illness and report concerns to veterinary staff Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pets' needs and behaviors Assist veterinary technicians or assistants with animal handling during medical procedures or examinations Perform heavy lifting when necessary for moving supplies or equipment

Qualifications

Experience in dog handling, pet grooming, pet sitting, or veterinary assistant roles preferred Knowledge of animal restraint and behavior management techniques Strong animal care skills with an understanding of pet health and safety protocols Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and staff Ability to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in various weather conditions Prior kennel experience or veterinary technician experience is a plus Compassionate attitude towards animals with a genuine interest in their well-being Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 - 35.0 per week
