Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Dog Walker to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional care and exercise for dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety and happiness during walks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, strong handling skills, and the ability to manage multiple dogs in a professional manner. Responsibilities

Take dogs on scheduled walks, ensuring they are exercised safely and humanely Monitor dog behavior during walks to prevent any aggressive or unsafe situations Assist with pet care routines including feeding, grooming, and administering medication if required Handle animals with patience and confidence, utilizing animal restraint techniques when necessary Maintain clean and safe walking equipment and ensure the safety of all pets in your care Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' behavior and well-being Provide basic training reinforcement during walks if applicable Assist with kennel cleaning or other animal care duties as needed

Skills

Experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or animal care is preferred Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus Veterinary technician or assistant experience beneficial for understanding pet health needs Animal restraint skills to ensure safety during walks and handling Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for managing supplies or assisting with animals Animal grooming skills are advantageous for providing comprehensive pet care Experience with kennel management or equine handling is a bonus but not required Compassionate attitude with a genuine love for animals and their well-being
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 25 per week
