Job Description

We are looking for a full-time dog groomer with at least one year of experience preferred. The position requires grooming dogs of all breeds and sizes. Must have a deep love and compassion for animals. Looking for someone who is a team player, willing to learn new grooming techniques, and clean up their own station as well as shared areas.


50% commission, plus tips. W-2 Employee.

Bathing and drying:

Wash, shampoo, and dry the dog's coat, removing mats and tangles.

Trimming and styling:

Use scissors, clippers, or stripping knives to trim and style the dog's fur according to breed standards or owner specifications.

Nail and ear care:

Clip nails and clean ears, taking care to avoid injury.

Health checks:

Examine the dog's skin and coat for parasites, skin conditions, or other health issues and report them to the owner.

Client and administrative duties

Client communication:

Advise owners on at-home grooming needs, discuss their preferences, and provide updates on their pet's behavior or health during the groom.

Animal handling:

Calmly and safely manage dogs of all sizes and temperaments throughout the grooming process.

Workstation maintenance:

Keep the grooming area clean, sanitized, and well-organized.

Skills and qualifications

Animal behavior:

A comfort with and understanding of dogs.

Manual dexterity:

Skill in using grooming tools like scissors, clippers, and nail clippers.

Physical stamina:

The ability to stand for long periods and lift dogs.

Communication:

The ability to communicate effectively with clients and recognize non-verbal cues in dogs.
