Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our pet care team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal grooming and handling, with experience in pet grooming, animal care, and customer service. This role involves providing high-quality grooming services to dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the process. The Dog Groomer will also assist with pet care routines and maintain a clean, safe grooming environment.

Duties

Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing of dogs according to client specifications. Handle dogs safely and humanely using proper restraint techniques to ensure both pet and groomer safety. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools and work area in compliance with health standards. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs and recommendations. Assist with pet handling duties such as feeding, walking, or administering basic care as needed. Monitor pets for signs of health issues or distress during grooming sessions and report concerns to management or veterinary staff. Keep detailed records of grooming services provided and any special instructions from clients. Support team members in maintaining a positive, efficient work environment focused on animal welfare.

Qualifications

Prior experience in pet grooming, animal handling, or kennel work is preferred. Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus. Familiarity with veterinary technician or assistant roles, veterinary care procedures, or equine experience is advantageous. Strong animal handling skills with the ability to restrain animals safely and humanely. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting large dogs). Compassionate attitude towards animals with patience and attention to detail. Physical stamina for standing for extended periods and performing manual tasks related to grooming.
