Hiking Dog Co is a small retail store specializing in premium outdoor gear for dogs. We are customer-centric, fun, rewarding and our goal is to share our love of the outdoors with dogs & their people.

*Responsibilities
Greet customers & their dogs (if appropriate!) and create a positive experience for them. Having great conversations with our visitors about their dogs is a key part of creating a great experience for them - and it's fun for you!
Assist customers in selecting the best dog gear for their dog & their needs. Help with fitting dog gear.
Learn about our gear and understand its features, uses, benefits and safety measures (training is provided!).
Make sure merchandise is stocked and store is clean & tidy.
Basic cashier tasks such as checking out customers & processing returns/exchanges.
*Basic Qualifications
Be able to work well with team members.
Be available for morning shifts (11am - 4 pm) and evening shifts (4-8pm), and every other weekend Saturday and/or Sunday
Ability to communicate effectively with customers in order to understand their activities & needs.
Experience working with and around dogs and their people
Be comfortable around dogs and able to asses and respect the pet's level of comfort (for example, do they need their space or is it ok to pet/approach them).
Maintain a positive & calm environment for our visitors & our team!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
