dog daycare and boarding facility

offering structured play, enrichment, and reliable overnight care. We're growing and looking to add an experienced, dependable dog handler to our team.

Position Summary

The Dog Daycare & Boarding Attendant is responsible for supervising off-leash playgroups, supporting safe socialization, caring for overnight boarding dogs, maintaining a clean environment, and delivering excellent service to both pets and their owners. This role is active, hands-on, and ideal for someone who understands canine behavior and thrives in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

Daycare

Supervise group play for dogs of all sizes Monitor dog behavior and maintain safe group environments Assess temperament, energy, and group compatibility Engage dogs in enrichment and structured activities Clean and sanitize playrooms, crates, and indoor/outdoor spaces

Boarding

Provide high-quality care to overnight boarding dogs Follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and routine care procedures Ensure dogs are comfortable, safe, and clean throughout their stay Conduct potty breaks, nighttime checks, and morning routines Maintain boarding suite cleanliness and sanitation standards

General Responsibilities

Support check-in/check-out and communicate with pet parents Maintain accurate notes on behavior, meals, medications, and routines Follow all safety and handling protocols Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations

Required Qualifications

2+ years professional dog-handling experience (daycare, training, kennel, boarding, rescue, or veterinary) Strong knowledge of dog body language and social behavior Ability to confidently handle dogs of varying sizes and temperaments Comfortable working in a high-activity environment Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask Able to lift 40+ lbs and stand/walk for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing group dog play Knowledge of positive reinforcement handling Pet CPR/First Aid certification Customer service experience Ability to walk multiple dogs at once

Schedule

Weekday and weekend availability required Morning and evening shifts Holiday and peak-season shifts mandatory
