Responsibilities

Safely bathe, dry, and groom dogs and other small animals according to established standards and customer preferences Assist with animal handling, ensuring pets are comfortable and secure during grooming procedures Use animal restraint techniques effectively to prevent injury and reduce stress during grooming sessions Perform basic pet care tasks such as brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat maintenance Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations, tools, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment Monitor animals for signs of distress or health issues; communicate observations to team members or veterinary staff as needed Support dog training activities by reinforcing commands or behaviors when appropriate Provide excellent customer service by addressing pet owner questions and delivering updates on pet grooming progress Assist with kennel duties when necessary, including light lifting of animals and cleaning of kennels or holding areas Follow safety protocols related to heavy lifting, animal handling, and equipment use to ensure a safe working environment

Experience

Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles is a strong plus Experience with dog training, veterinary procedures, or equine care can enhance your effectiveness in this role Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and pet sitting responsibilities is advantageous Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service in a pet-related setting Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during busy grooming sessions Knowledge of animal behavior management to ensure safe interactions with pets of all temperaments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
