Overview

We are seeking a passionate and responsible Divemaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a certified diver with a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and environmental stewardship. As a key member of our diving operations, the Divemaster will assist with dive planning, supervise diving activities, and ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for all participants. This role is expected to work in the shop part time and earns commission on sales! This role offers an exciting opportunity to share your love of the underwater world while helping others explore it responsibly.

Duties

Lead and supervise certified divers during recreational dives, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Assist with dive briefings, including explaining dive plans, safety procedures, and environmental considerations. Monitor divers' well-being throughout the dive, providing assistance as needed. Assist in equipment setup, maintenance, and inspections to ensure safety standards are met. Support customer service efforts by providing guidance and answering questions about dive sites and conditions. Maintain accurate records of dives, participant information, and equipment logs. Promote environmental awareness by educating divers on conservation practices and local marine life. Support the organization of diving trips and related activities to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

Certified Divemaster through a recognized certification agency (e.g., PADI, NAUI). Proven experience leading dives and supervising groups in various underwater environments. Strong knowledge of diving safety standards, emergency procedures, and rescue techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to instruct and engage divers of all experience levels. Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations. Physical fitness suitable for active underwater work and surface support activities. First Aid & CPR certification is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain if not already certified. A passion for marine life conservation and environmental stewardship is highly valued. Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
