Electrical and Test Engineering: X Display Company\xe2\x80\x99s Electrical and Test Engineering team plays a vital role in our company\xe2\x80\x99s success. We serve XDC\xe2\x80\x99s current and future customers, as well as internal research and development projects, contributing to new product and services revenue. We are focused on our customers\xe2\x80\x99 success and work hard to fully enable the display makers of today and tomorrow. Our goal is to help them find new ways to overcome challenges and exceed their business goals and technology roadmaps. Our team provides full back-end support for all things related to design for test input, test process development, electrical and materials characterization, physical test/repair/analysis, and test infrastructure development and management.

About the Position:

The Display Test Engineer is a key support role for developing and executing on prototype displays, as well as understanding the performance of components and devices related to display systems. You will work closely with key core members of our team of engineers, scientists, and technicians who produce results. You will be responsible for developing learning processes and methods for testing, repairing, and characterizing, electrically and optically, while also generating reports and aiding in technical meetings to explain results internally and externally. Responsibilities include display backplane repair development, signal analysis of both digital and analog signals generated from FPGAs and integrated circuit components and optical/electrical characterization of discrete and packaged micro-LED components. You will support XDC technology development by providing unique test solutions which enable the successful design, fabrication, and assembly of displays and related technology.

Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Develop an understanding of display repair and measurement, performance evaluation and reporting, and repair/characterize various display technologies
  • Execute on schedules and be responsible for communicating status and issues in real time.
  • Help guide and integrate departments and teams technically by creating feedback loops to improve process development and data analysis.
  • Aid programs in meeting deliverables by reducing challenges with unique repair and test strategies.
  • Sustain and improve processes for testing and characterizing microscale LEDs, ICs, devices, etc.
  • Develop automated electrical and optical test equipment, processes, and analyses for:
  • Equipment/software for automated test, characterization, and manufacturable considerations.
  • LED arrays, including automated colorimetry/analysis of RGB LED arrays on glass wafers and customer backplanes.
  • Handle, process, test, and move around advanced technology semiconductor wafers (100 \xe2\x80\x93 300mm).
  • Identify opportunities to improve procedures and test throughput by analyzing experimental data.
  • Provide detailed reports of test results to project teams and customers and support intensive troubleshooting and repair of test equipment, display products, display packages and discrete devices.
Requirements:

You have/can:
  • University degree in physical sciences or engineering, or equivalent.
  • > 5 yrs experience in semiconductor fabrication/test, or display systems.
  • Due to facility export control rules, only US Citizens or permanent residents will be considered.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and a strong engineering or technical background.
  • Proficient experience in:
  • Electrical characterization \xe2\x80\x93 analog, digital, IV, resistance, optical characterization, including colorimetry and spectrometry.
  • Semiconductor device modelling.
  • Use of oscilloscopes, parametric testers, manual/automated probe stations, multimeters, and power supplies.
Preferred:
  • Professional experience in display systems and management.
  • Technical understanding of semi-conductor processing and equipment.
  • Experience measuring digital/analog signals for troubleshooting purposes.
  • A proven understanding, and hands-on experience, with a variety of important software packages.
  • Productivity software such as Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams.
  • Scientific software, such as Matlab, CAD, PSPICE.
  • Database management software, such as SQL.
  • Familiar with SPC, DOE, ANOVA.
  • Programming skills for scripting data analysis and equipment.
