Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatcher to coordinate transportation and logistics operations within our supply chain. The ideal candidate will efficiently manage freight movements, communicate effectively with drivers and clients, and utilize various transportation management systems to ensure timely deliveries. This role requires strong analysis skills, familiarity with logistics software, and excellent communication abilities to support seamless transportation planning and fleet management.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400 Utilize GIS and GPS tools to optimize routing and transportation planning Monitor real-time vehicle locations via GPS to ensure on-time delivery performance Manage dispatching activities for fleet operations, including assigning drivers and tracking shipments Maintain accurate data entry related to shipping & receiving, freight status, and delivery schedules Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and clients through multi-line phone systems and professional phone etiquette Oversee shipping & receiving processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements Collaborate with 3PL providers to coordinate third-party logistics services Analyze transportation data to identify efficiencies and areas for improvement in logistics operations Support fleet management activities by tracking vehicle maintenance schedules and compliance

Skills

Proficiency in transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400 Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning principles Experience with freight coordination, shipping & receiving, and supply chain logistics Excellent analysis skills for evaluating transportation data and optimizing routes Effective dispatching skills with the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure Strong communication skills for liaising with drivers, clients, and internal teams Proficient typing skills for data entry tasks in various software platforms Familiarity with fleet management practices including vehicle tracking and maintenance scheduling Ability to operate multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette Knowledge of 3PL operations and shipping & receiving procedures
