Responsibilities

Monitor real-time vehicle locations through GPS and GIS tools to optimize routes and respond swiftly to any issues or delays. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and customers via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette and clear messaging. Manage data entry tasks related to shipping & receiving logs, fleet management records, and supply chain documentation with accuracy and efficiency. Utilize analysis skills to evaluate transportation plans, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions for improved logistics performance. Oversee freight movements within 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) environments, ensuring compliance with shipping & receiving protocols. Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, incidents, and shipment statuses using AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Assist in transportation planning by analyzing data related to fleet utilization, delivery schedules, and supply chain flow to support strategic decision-making. Ensure adherence to safety standards and proper use of GPS tracking devices for fleet management purposes. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly while demonstrating strong communication skills and professionalism.

Qualifications

Proven experience in dispatching within logistics or transportation management environments; familiarity with freight operations is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine, and data entry procedures. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data related to supply chain logistics and transportation planning. Proficiency in using multi-line phone systems and maintaining professional phone etiquette. Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes, fleet management practices, and 3PL operations. Ability to operate AS400 or similar ERP systems efficiently for data management purposes. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and recordkeeping. Effective communication skills for coordinating with multiple stakeholders across different departments.
