The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, utensils, and the kitchen area. This role supports the kitchen staff by ensuring that all dishes and equipment are cleaned and available for use.
Key Responsibilities:
Washing Dishes:
Operate dishwashing machines and clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils by hand as needed.
Sanitation:
Ensure all dishes and kitchen utensils are sanitized and comply with health and safety regulations.
Cleaning:
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, including sinks, countertops, and floors.
Organizing:
Properly store clean dishes and utensils in designated areas.
Assistance:
Assist kitchen staff with food preparation and other tasks as required.
Inventory Management:
Keep track of dishware and utensils, reporting any missing or damaged items to management.
Waste Management:
Dispose of kitchen waste and maintain cleanliness in trash areas.
Teamwork:
Collaborate with kitchen and wait staff to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is a plus but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Good communication skills and team spirit.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
Comfortable working in a hot and humid environment.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced kitchen setting.
May involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and hot surfaces.
