Duties

Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using proper cleaning techniques. Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and ensure all areas are organized and free of clutter. Assist with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients when needed to support kitchen operations. Support catering and banquet setups by ensuring all serving ware is clean and ready for use. Help with general kitchen cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping floors, emptying trash bins, and sanitizing work surfaces to uphold health standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of clean dishes during busy service periods. Follow food handling safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations. Assist with bussing tables and clearing dining areas during service to support smooth restaurant operations. Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating flexibility and a strong work ethic.

Skills

Proven experience in food service environments such as restaurants, hotels, catering events or banquet settings. Knowledge of food handling procedures and sanitation standards essential for maintaining a safe kitchen environment. Ability to perform basic food preparation tasks like peeling or portioning ingredients when required. Familiarity with cleaning routines specific to commercial kitchens including dishwashing machines and sanitation practices. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness. Excellent teamwork skills; able to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy trays or equipment. Prior experience in hospitality or culinary settings is highly desirable but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is key!
