American Legion Apache Post 27 provides services to military veterans and their families including a place to build community, socialize, have a good meal and enjoy a variety of entertainment. The dishwasher's primary responsibility is to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cookware in the kitchen environment, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This includes operating dishwashers, handwashing delicate items, and maintaining a clean and organized dish area. Dishwashers also contribute to overall kitchen cleanliness by assisting with food prep, waste disposal, and other cleaning tasks as needed. The position offered is Seasonal beginning mid to late September through the end of April. Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Washing and Sanitizing:
Cleaning dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
Maintaining the Dish Area:
Keeping the dishwashing area clean, organized, and free of clutter.
Loading and Unloading:
Properly loading and unloading dishwashers, as well as organizing clean items.
Food Prep Assistance:
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks like chopping vegetables or portioning ingredients.
Waste Disposal:
Removing trash and recycling and maintaining clean garbage containers.
General Cleaning:
Sweeping and scrubbing floors, cleaning storage areas, and assisting with other cleaning duties as needed.
Sanitation and Safety:
Following all sanitation guidelines and safety procedures.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensuring dishwashers are functioning properly and reporting any issues.
Closing Procedures:
Assisting with closing duties, including sanitizing cooking and food preparation stations.

Qualifications
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in bar/restaurant food service is preferred but not required; we welcome entry-level candidates as well.
A willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges as they arise.
Food Handler Certification required.
