Location:

San Pedro, CA (Hybrid - will transition to mostly on-site in Redondo Beach)

Compensation:

$50,000 - $62,000 annually (DOE) + full benefits

We're looking for a

Settlement Accounting Coordinator

to take full ownership of the

post-settlement process

, ensuring every dollar moves accurately, compliantly, and on time.

This is your chance to be the heartbeat of a growing legal team -- turning case victories into real-world results for clients. You'll coordinate between attorneys, clients, and accounting to make sure funds flow seamlessly, deadlines are met, and compliance standards are rock-solid.

What You'll Do



Own the full settlement workflow

-- from collecting signed releases to preparing settlement packages ready for final review.

Track payments and disbursements

with meticulous accuracy, ensuring all due dates and compliance timelines are met.

Prepare client disbursement sheets

calculating fees, expenses, liens, and final payouts with complete transparency.

Reconcile financial records

and partner with accounting to approve checks, manage trust accounts, and maintain accurate ledgers.

Follow up and escalate

overdue payments from defense counsel to protect clients' interests and firm revenue.

Communicate clearly

with clients, attorneys, and partners about settlement statuses and timelines.

What We're Looking For



1-3 years of experience in

accounting, bookkeeping, or financial coordination

(experience with legal or trust accounting a plus). Strong understanding of

settlement tracking, accounts payable/receivable, or disbursement reconciliation.

Tech-savvy across

QuickBooks, FileVine, or similar case/accounting software.

Naturally organized -- thrives on

deadlines, details, and follow-up systems.

Strong communicator who can balance professionalism with empathy. Self-starter who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively.
