This position will be responsible for overseeing all of the Electric dispatch centers specifically Electric Distribution (ESSO), Transmission Dispatch (SLD), and Transmission Operations (TSS). The Director leads the operation of the electric dispatch centers, which are responsible for the real-time, daily operation of NIPSCOs transmission and distribution systems. Distribution control employees provide 24x7 assessment and dispatch of emergency electric orders. Transmission control center employees monitor and operate the electric transmission system to ensure electric system reliability and security. Employees monitor both internal system conditions as well as external system conditions at the interconnection points of NIPSCOs local balancing area and make adjustments to system components to ensure system reliability and security. The Director is responsible for ensuring that all control center functions and the transmission system operate in compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation reliability and cybersecurity standards. Position responsibilities include the preparing for periodic regulatory audits, knowing reporting requirements, ensuring self-reporting compliance, implementing audit recommendations, and ensuring compliance with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Standards of Conduct. This role will also drive emergency response to lower customer interruptions and in addition to monitors CAIDI, SAIFI, and SAIDI.

Coaches staff of for proper work performance with respect to productivity, safety and quality to meet and exceed customer satisfaction
Directs problem solving in the field with respect to system operational difficulties
Creates, develops, and directs the performance metrics for electric operations
Provides strong leadership, employee development/training, and team building opportunities to maintain self-directed work teams in a lean operations environment
Effectively supports Vice President of Power Delivery with other projects as assigned
Safe, efficient, operations focused on compliance, emergency response and customer service
Directs the management of workload through efficient scheduling and assigning of resources
Leads an informed, engaged and motivated workforce
Creates effective systems and processes for managing work
Maintains safe, efficient electric operations in compliance with all mandated government regulations and Company policies and procedures

Required Qualifications for Position
Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline
7+ years' work experience in the utility industry
Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of the electric dispatch centers specifically on NIPSCOs general orders, NERC/FERC standards, electric grid, etc.
Proven analytical abilities in measuring performance metrics.
Prior success in identifying and addressing the strategic implications of problems, issues, and opportunities.
Proven success in establishing and managing a lean staff in a fast-paced and ever-changing energy market environment.
Proven written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated integrity and commitment, focusing on detail-orientation, effective follow-up and efficient follow through.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with all organizational levels.
Knowledge and experience with the operation and maintenance of all high voltage substation equipment and distribution and transmission systems and associated voltages
Knowledge of proper tools and equipment required to complete various tasks for electric line construction and maintenance
Knowledge in the use of EHV & HV diagnostic test equipment and interpretation of data
Ability to manage O&M and Capital Budgets
Knowledge of Cascade Maintenance Management System
Knowledge of Electric System Emergency and Storm Restoration plans
Ability to direct in the restoration of the electric system following major interruptions
Valid driver's license

Master's Degree M.B.A. or 8+ years professional work experience
